Tokyo Residents’ Day(free admission)
All prefectures in Japan have a Residents’ Day to create a sense of unity amongst the prefectural community. In Tokyo, Residents’ Day falls on the first of October. On this day, not only do children get a day off from school, but all city run zoos and museums are open free of charge. If you have the time off and are willing to brave the outrageous crowds that come with such a holiday, Tokyo Residents’ Day makes for a great time to visit one of Tokyo’s many zoos or museums with your kids.
