Tokyo Guide
Dentists
Dental offices are quite common in Japan, with offices visible all around Tokyo. Most general work on your teeth is covered by Japanese health insurance, but getting a tooth pulled is usually not covered. If you plan to pull a tooth, make sure you bring some extra cash for the co-pay. Many dentists require an appointment to see you since their schedules can get tight. Also, most basic insurances don’t consider braces a necessity, as they might in other countries, and will not cover any of the cost for them.
