Hospitals

In Japan, there are two types of health institutions you can visit. First, there are large hospitals with many different doctors and dentists. Second, there are smaller health clinics; usually private practices run by a few doctors. Large hospitals have bigger facilities and access to more equipment, while health clinics are more abundant and usually closer to home. This makes clinics ideal for common health problems, such as colds or muscle aches. Doctors in Japan sometimes speak a little English, but don’t expect fluency outside of an international hospital.
