Point Card
Nearly all local supermarkets offer a point card. The savings are modest, but it’s worth picking one up if you find yourself frequenting the same supermarket. Generally how the point cards work is every 100 yen you spend at the store gives you one point, or so. After you reach a certain number of points, you can use the card to get a discount on you next purchase. Point cards are free and fairly easy to makes, usually requiring only a name and address.
